Los Brit Awards 2006 fueron la 26.ª edición de los Brit Awards . Fueron organizados por la British Phonographic Industry y tuvieron lugar el 14 de febrero de 2006 [ 1 ] en Earls Court en Londres . [ 2 ]

La ceremonia fue presentada por Chris Evans , quien también presentó los Brit Awards 2005. Duró aproximadamente tres horas y se había relajado la prohibición de alcohol del año anterior. La actuación más sorprendente fue la de Prince , quien se reunió con Wendy y Lisa de The Revolution , junto con Sheila E. para la presentación. [ 3 ] [ 4 ]

Los grandes ganadores de 2006 fueron los Kaiser Chiefs , que se llevaron tres premios. [ 5 ] Coldplay , James Blunt y Green Day se llevaron dos premios cada uno, y Coldplay obtuvo su sexto en total. Controversy

  • Some of the more famous British pop acts failed to get a nomination. Bands like Girls Aloud and McFly both had top 10 hits in both the single and album charts but neither were nominated, and Oasis who were eligible, but were snubbed in the category of Best Album, only had 2 nominations.
