Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen bin Tengku Ismail ( Jawi : تڠکو أحمد رضاءالدين بن تڠکو إسماعيل ; 24 de enero de 1928 – 29 de abril de 2022) fue un político y abogado malasio que anteriormente se desempeñó como presidente de la junta disciplinaria de la UMNO . Anteriormente se desempeñó como Ministro de Defensa , Ministro de Comercio Internacional e Industria y Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores . Fue miembro del Parlamento por Kota Bharu durante cinco legislaturas antes de perder su escaño en las elecciones generales de 1990 ante el candidato Semangat 46. Era un príncipe real de la Familia Real de Kelatan y nieto del último Sultán de Pattani, el Sultán Abdul Kadir Kamarudin Syah . Tras el derrocamiento del trono por los siameses , el sultán de Pattani fue exiliado a Kelantan y se casó con Tengku Kembang Petri Binti Sultan Ahmad. También fue uno de los pocos malayos que recibieron la Gran Cruz de la Orden del Sol Naciente del emperador japonés en 2018, en reconocimiento a su contribución al fortalecimiento de las relaciones entre Malasia y Japón . [ 1 ] Asimismo, tuvo una participación activa en la política malaya , expresando su opinión sobre diversos temas relacionados con las preocupaciones sociales posteriores al BN . [ 2 ]

Muerte

Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen murió el 29 de abril de 2022 en su residencia de Jalan Duta , a los 94 años. [ 3 ] Fue enterrado en el cementerio musulmán de Bukit Kiara en Kuala Lumpur. [ 4 ]
