El fotmal ( del inglés antiguo : fotmael , lit.  " medida de pie "; del latín : fotmal ), también conocido como pie ( pes ), formel , fontinel y fotmell , era una unidad inglesa de peso variable utilizada particularmente para medir la producción, las ventas y los aranceles del plomo . [ 1 ]

Según la Ley de Pesos y Medidas de c. 1300 , equivalía a 70 libras de comerciantes y constituía 1/30 de una carga de plomo . [ 2 ] En otros lugares, se componía de 70 libras avoirdupois y constituía 1/24 de carga. [ 1 ] En Derbyshire, en el siglo XVI, el fotmal se dividía evidentemente en "boles" y constituía 1/30 de un fother , lo que significa que se consideraba que era de 84 libras avoirdupois . [ 1 ]

Su uso continuó hasta el siglo XVI. [ 1 ]
