La fructosa 6-fosfato (a veces llamada éster de Neuberg ) es un derivado de la fructosa , que ha sido fosforilada en el grupo 6-hidroxi. Es uno de los varios fructosafosfatos posibles . La forma β- D de este compuesto es muy común en las células . [ 1 ] [ 2 ] La gran mayoría de la glucosa se convierte en fructosa 6-fosfato al entrar en una célula. La fructosa se convierte predominantemente en fructosa 1-fosfato por acción de la fructocinasa tras su importación celular.

Historia

El nombre éster de Neuberg proviene del bioquímico alemán Carl Neuberg . En 1918, descubrió que el compuesto (identificado posteriormente como fructosa 6-fosfato) se producía mediante hidrólisis ácida suave de fructosa 2,6-bisfosfato . [ 3 ]

En la glucólisis
