Premio Cathleen Synge Morawetz

El Premio AMS-SIAM Cathleen Synge Morawetz de Matemáticas Aplicadas es otorgado conjuntamente por la Sociedad Matemática Estadounidense (AMS) y la Sociedad de Matemáticas Industriales y Aplicadas (SIAM) en honor a Cathleen Synge Morawetz . ^{[ 1 ]}^{[ 2 ]} Antes de 2025, se conocía como el Premio AMS-SIAM George David Birkhoff de Matemáticas Aplicadas, en honor a George David Birkhoff . ^{[ 1 ]} Actualmente se otorga cada tres años por una contribución destacada a las "matemáticas aplicadas en el sentido más amplio y elevado". ^{[ 1 ]} El ganador del premio debe ser miembro de una de las sociedades que lo otorgan, así como residente de Estados Unidos , Canadá o México .
