Shri Raghunatha Tirtha ( IAST : Śrī Raghunātha Tīrtha ) ( c. 1405 – c. 1502) fue un filósofo, erudito y santo hindú . Fue pontífice del Uttaradi Math desde 1442 hasta 1502. Fue el decimonoveno sucesor de Madhvacharya . [ 1 ] [ 2 ]

Vida

Raghunatha Tirtha fue contemporáneo de Vibhudendra Tirtha, el progenitor del Raghavendra Math y Sripadaraja , un pontífice del mutt en Mulbagal (ahora conocido como Sripadaraja Mutt), Vyasatirtha y Purandara Dasa . [ 3 ] Sucedió que cuando Lakshminarayana Tirtha fue iniciado en la renuncia y reconocido como sucesor de Svarnavarna Tirtha para pontificar, fue enviado a Vibhudendra Tirtha para estudios superiores, donde se convirtió en un experto en el sistema Dvaita . [ 4 ] Se realizó una prueba de su conocimiento bajo la supervisión de Raghunatha Tirtha. Lakshminarayana sobresalió en la prueba al comentar un texto importante del sistema. Fue Raghunatha Tirtha quien le confirió el nombre de Sripadaraja o Sripadaraya . [ 5 ] El Sripadarajashtakam también menciona la peregrinación conjunta de Sripadaraja con Raghunatha Tirtha a Benarés . [ 5 ] [ 3 ] Sripadaraja fue un colaborador cercano de Raghunatha Tirtha. [ 3 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 3 ] Raghunatha Tirtha murió en 1502 y sus restos mortales fueron consagrados en el mutt de Malkheda . Fue sucedido por su discípulo. [ 3 ]
