La proteína secretada Ly-6/uPAR-relacionada 1 es una proteína que en humanos está codificada por el gen SLURP1 . [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] Ejerce efectos antiinflamatorios, actúa como supresor tumoral y antagoniza los receptores nicotínicos. [ 8 ]

Función

La proteína codificada por este gen pertenece a la familia Ly6/uPAR, pero carece de una secuencia señal de anclaje GPI. Se secreta en la sangre [ 6 ] y, en ocasiones, también se encuentra en el semen cuando se extrae del cigoto femenino, donde se une al receptor α7-acetilcolina [ 8 ] . Se ha demostrado que actúa como un supresor tumoral endógeno al reducir la migración e invasión celular mediante su propio efecto antitumoral y al antagonizar los efectos pro-malignos de la nicotina [ 8 ] .

Las mutaciones en este gen se han asociado con la enfermedad de Meleda , un trastorno cutáneo autosómico recesivo poco frecuente caracterizado por una hiperqueratosis palmoplantar inflamatoria. Esto es consecuencia de la pérdida de SLURP1, que conduce a una diferenciación epitelial disfuncional [ 9 ] y a una mayor secreción de las citocinas inflamatorias TNFα, IL1, IL-6 e IL-8. [ 10 ] [ 11 ]

Este gen se localiza en la misma región cromosómica que varios miembros de la familia Ly6/uPAR de receptores de glicoproteínas. [ 7 ]
