Sakina

Sakina o Sakinah ( en árabe : سـكـن ) es una palabra árabe basada en una raíz semítica , a través de la cual también está relacionada con un derivado hebreo . En árabe connota "paz", "serenidad" o " tranquilidad ". Varias palabras basadas en la raíz skn aparecen en el Corán . ^{[ 1 ] [ 2 ]} El término hebreo " shekhinah " significa literalmente "morada" o "asentamiento", y en la literatura talmúdica del judaísmo denota la presencia de Dios en un lugar. ^{[ 3 ]}

Según Abd al-Aziz Ibn Baz , en su comentario de los hadices de Sahih al-Bukhari transmitidos por Usayd ibn Hudayr , Sakina es un ángel que trae tranquilidad a los recitadores del Corán. ^{[ 4 ]}

Sakina es el espíritu de tranquilidad o paz reconfortante. Es un derivado de la palabra original "Sakina", que se menciona en el Corán como descendida sobre el profeta islámico ( en árabe : نَـبِي , nabi ) Mahoma y los creyentes mientras realizaban una peregrinación desarmada a La Meca , y se enfrentaron a una fuerza militar opositora de los Quraysh , con quienes Mahoma firmó el Tratado de Hudaybiyah . "Él es Quien hizo descender la sakina a los corazones de los creyentes para que añadieran fe a su fe" (48:4). ^{[ 5 ]}

Otra asociación coránica con la concordia de moradas en paz coincide con la atribución de la Sakinah a la concordia matrimonial bajo la tienda de Sara: «Y Dios os dio vuestras casas como lugar de reposo ( árabe : سَـكَـنًـا , sakanan ) (16:80). ^{[ 1 ]}

Sakinah is further mentioned in the following verse: "While the Unbelievers got up in their hearts heat and cant - the heat and cant of ignorance,- Allah sent down Sakīnaṫahu (Arabic: سـكـيـنـتـه, His Tranquility) to his Messenger and to the Believers, and made them stick close to the command of self-restraint; and well were they entitled to it and worthy of it. And Allah has full knowledge of all things" (48:26).^[6]

Another Qur'anic verse portrays sakinah as reassurance: "Allah's Good Pleasure was on the Believers when they swore Fealty to thee under the Tree: He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down Sakina - tranquillity (alssakeenata) to them; and He rewarded them with a speedy Victory" (48:18).^[7]

Karen Armstrong notes: "The sakinah it will also be recalled, seems to be related to the Hebrew Shekhinah (Biblical Hebrew: שכינה), the term for God's presence in the world."^[8]

The root of the word is sa-ka-nah, which means "dwelled" or "remained in place". This further supports the association with the Shekhinah as "indwelling". The fact that the word is preceded by "al" (the) shows that it does not denote a name, but has an abstract meaning.

Sufi writings,^[9] in expounding the inner peace of Sufi contemplation, which dwells in a sanctuary or in the heart, confirm the association with both Sakinah and the Shekhinah. Sufi reference to sa-ka-na as meaning both stillness and habitation adds to the identity with Shekhinah's indwelling nature.
