Universidad de Selangor

La Universidad de Selangor ( abreviatura : UNISEL ) es una universidad privada en Selangor , Malasia , propiedad y gestionada íntegramente por el gobierno estatal de Selangor de forma independiente, sin financiación del gobierno federal de Malasia (y por lo tanto se considera una universidad "privada" en contraposición a una universidad "pública").

Opera dos campus: Bestari Jaya Campus y Shah Alam Campus.

UNISEL se estableció el 23 de agosto de 1999 como la primera universidad semipública financiada por el estado en Malasia. ^{[ 1 ]} Su objetivo era brindar educación superior y oportunidades para la investigación y el desarrollo en el amplio ámbito de la tecnología industrial, la administración y las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones.

Comenzó sus operaciones en un campus provisional en Shah Alam . Su campus principal en el municipio de Bestari Jaya , a unos 50 km de la capital federal, Kuala Lumpur , se completó en 2005. Actualmente, UNISEL opera desde los campus de Shah Alam y Bestari Jaya. ^{[ 2 ]}

UNISEL is owned and managed by the State Government of Selangor through UNISEL Sdn. Bhd.(formerly known Pendidikan Industri YS Sdn. Bhd.), a subsidiary of the state-owned investment arm, Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad and established under the provisions of the Private Higher Education Institutions Act 1996. It is one of two institutions of higher education owned by the state government via PIYS: the other being INPENS International College.^[3]

UNISEL operates from two campuses: one in the township of Bestari Jaya and another in the state capital, Shah Alam.^[5]

The main campus is on a 1,000-acre (4.0 km²) lot which is part of a 4,000 acres (16 km²) piece of land that has been earmarked as the Selangor Educational Park.^[2] It is the location of the following faculties:
