La Torre de Belgrado ( en serbio : Кула Београд , romanizado :  Kula Beograd ), conocida oficialmente como Kula Belgrade , es un rascacielos de 42 pisos y 168 metros (551 pies) de altura que forma parte del proyecto Belgrade Waterfront en Belgrado , Serbia . [ 2 ] 

Tras la finalización de la estructura exterior en 2022, se convirtió en el edificio más alto de Belgrado y de los Balcanes Occidentales , y se ha promocionado como "el faro de toda la comunidad planificada". [ 3 ] [ 4 ] Fuera de Turquía , siguió siendo el edificio más alto de los Balcanes durante un año antes de ser superado por el Sky Fort de Sofía , Bulgaria, de 202 metros (663 pies) , en 2023. Sigue siendo el edificio más alto de la antigua Yugoslavia . 

Descripción general

Situada en una ubicación privilegiada a orillas del río Sava , la Torre de Belgrado ofrecerá un estilo de vida ribereño. Concebida como un «nuevo símbolo de la capital serbia», los promotores buscaron integrar la arquitectura tradicional de Belgrado en un desarrollo moderno. La torre tendrá acceso directo a un paseo marítimo, ubicado muy cerca de la Fortaleza de Belgrado . Estará conectada con el casco antiguo a través de una plaza pública. [ 5 ]

Los arquitectos se inspiraron en el río cercano al planificar el diseño exterior. Además de la torre de telecomunicaciones Avala , esta será la estructura más alta de Belgrado, e incluirá un hotel St. Regis de 190 habitaciones que ocupará los primeros nueve pisos, y 220 apartamentos de lujo con servicios de la marca St. Regis en los pisos 14 al 39. [ 6 ] Los huéspedes del St. Regis Belgrade y los residentes de los apartamentos tendrán acceso a una piscina, un gimnasio, una sala de relajación y un mirador en la cima de la torre. [ 7 ]

Construcción

Diseño

Kula Belgrade fue diseñado por la firma de renombre internacional Skidmore, Owings and Merrill . [ 8 ] Entre sus obras más famosas se encuentran el edificio 345 California Center en San Francisco , el Edificio Hancock y la Torre Willis en Chicago. Su edificio más famoso es el Burj Khalifa en Dubái , el edificio más alto del mundo.

El edificio presenta un diseño inusual que cambia de forma a la altura del piso 14, donde el edificio «gira». Es uno de los pocos edificios de este tipo que logra una rotación de 90 grados en tan solo diez pisos. [ 9 ] La rotación del edificio simboliza lo que hace reconocible a Belgrado: la confluencia del Sava y el Danubio. En la fachada de paneles de vidrio, se puede apreciar el reflejo del río y el panorama de la ciudad, lo que da una impresión de fluidez. [ 8 ]

La fachada está compuesta por casi 14 000 paneles de vidrio. [ 10 ] Hasta el noveno piso, la fachada también cuenta con un vidrio especial "para aves primero", con líneas visibles solo para las aves, lo que les ayuda a no "chocar" con el edificio. Otra característica distintiva de los vidrios de la fachada es que son espectralmente selectivos, es decir, permiten el paso de la mayor cantidad de luz posible a la vez que reducen la pérdida de energía. [ 9 ]

El rascacielos está conectado al centro comercial Galerija mediante una pasarela peatonal, desde donde se puede tomar un ascensor directamente al mirador. [ 11 ] El edificio también cuenta con un garaje subterráneo de dos niveles con 305 plazas de aparcamiento, mientras que la segunda planta subterránea está destinada a trasteros residenciales y salas técnicas anexas. [ 12 ]

piso 13

Kula Belgrade es el primer edificio en Serbia sin piso 13. En su lugar, el piso 12 tendrá un doble nivel. El número 13 no aparece en el panel de control de ninguno de los 15 ascensores del edificio. [ 13 ]

St. Regis

En abril de 2016, se anunció que la cadena hotelera Marriott había elegido Kula Belgrade como sede de su franquicia de hoteles de lujo St. Regis . [ 14 ] El hotel de Belgrado ocupa el sexto lugar en Europa y el sexagésimo primero en el mundo. [ 15 ] En 2017, se anunció que el edificio también albergaría "The Residences at The St. Regis Belgrade", los primeros apartamentos de la marca St. Regis en Europa. [ 16 ]

Hotel St. Regis

El Hotel St. Regis Belgrade ocupa las primeras 11 plantas del edificio, [ 17 ] ofrece 119 habitaciones y suites con vistas a la ciudad o al río Sava, y cuenta con el conocido bar St. Regis. La segunda planta dispone de piscina, spa, gimnasio y salas de reuniones. [ 18 ]

The Astor Ballroom will be located on the ground floor of the building as a place for exclusive events and special celebrations.[20]

St. Regis branded apartments

The so-called "The Residences at The St. Regis Belgrade" - branded St. Regis apartments - offer a privileged residential experience to everyone looking for the ultimate comfort and the most prestigious place to live.[21] The space from the 14th to the 19th floor of Kula Belgrade is occupied by 32 apartments from the "Signature" collection, from the 20th to the 37th floor by 170 apartments from the "Grand" collection, and from the 37th to the 40th floor by 18 apartments from the "Sky" collection.[18] There are 220 apartments in the building.[22]

The sale of apartments in the building began in May 2019.[23]

Opening of St. Regis Belgrade

St. Regis Belgrade located from first to 11th floor in Kula Belgrade was opened on 31 October 2024 with owner of Eagle Hills (developer of Belgrade Waterfront) and Serbian President. Apartments from 14th to 40th floor aren't still open but it's expected for them to open soon. Apartments are branded with St. Regis and they will also have concierge and other services same as hotel rooms.

Observation deck

As the tallest building in Serbia, Kula Belgrade will have an observation deck at the top, on the 41st floor, with a view of the entire capital, rivers and landmarks such as the Belgrade Fortress, the Temple of Saint Sava and the Avala Tower. Visitors will reach this 360-degree viewpoint by high-speed elevators. Kula Belgrade has 15 elevators, and it takes 25 seconds to get to the restaurant and the observation deck from the ground floor.[8]

In the November of 2024, Belgrade Waterfront published page on their site publicly about observation deck of Kula Belgrade called Belgrade 360 Deck.[24]

Media facade

Since the beginning of 2022, important dates and events have been regularly marked on the media facade of Kula Belgrade. In January 2022, Orthodox New Year was celebrated with a three-and-a-half-minute light show and the colors of the Serbian flag.[25] The projection of the message "Long live Serbia" marked the Sretenje holiday and Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia in February 2022.[26] In November 2022, the Kula Belgrade facade displayed an animation in honor of the Cyrillic alphabet and reformer of the Serbian language, Vuk Karadžić.[27] In the same month, a message of support was sent to Serbian football players before the World Cup in Qatar 2022.[28] In February 2023, several dozens of love messages were broadcast to mark Valentine's Day.[29] In June 2023, the facade commemorated the success of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, who won a record 23rd Grand Slam title.[30] In June 2023, a special animation was shown in honor of Nikola Jokić, the Serbian basketball player who led his team to the first championship NBA title in history.[31]

Kula Plaza

The modernly designed plateau - Kula Plaza, located at the foot of the Kula Belgrade - will be the new place for city events and the most important cultural and artistic events, including concerts, festivals, various manifestations, performances and seasonal events.[8] Kula Plaza was designed by SWA Group.[32]
