El cementerio Cedar Lawn es un cementerio rural de estilo victoriano ubicado en Paterson , Nueva Jersey . El cementerio Cedar Lawn abrió oficialmente sus puertas en septiembre de 1867 y registró su primer entierro el 27 de septiembre de 1867.

Ubicación

Cedar Lawn se ubica en un terreno de varias hectáreas delimitado por Lakeview Avenue ( CR 624 ), Crooks Avenue, la I-80 y la NJ-20 . En este terreno también se encuentra el cementerio Calvary, un camposanto católico. Más de 85 000 personas están sepultadas en Cedar Lawn.

Historia

Durante la Guerra de Independencia , el cementerio era una finca agrícola propiedad de Annatje Von Riper, su hijo Henry Doremus y Hessel Peterse. El ejército británico saqueó las tres casas durante su marcha por Nueva Jersey en noviembre de 1776. [ 1 ]
