
Las Euphorinae son una gran subfamilia de avispas parasitoides Braconidae . Algunas especies se han utilizado para el control biológico de plagas . Son el grupo hermano de las Meteorinae .
Existen más de 1270 especies de Euphorinae. [ 1 ]
Descripción y distribución
Las euforinas son avispas pequeñas, generalmente de color oscuro. No son ciclostomadas. Se encuentran en todo el mundo. [ 2 ]
Biología
Las euforinas son endoparasitoides koinobiontes solitarios o, raramente, gregarios . A diferencia de la mayoría de las demás avispas parasitoides, las euforinas tienen un amplio rango de hospedadores y atacan insectos adultos o ninfas de insectos hemimetábolos .
Las avispas de la tribu Dinocampini parasitan a los escarabajos adultos . [ 3 ]
Taxonomía y filogenia
Shaw (1985) dividió Euphorinae en tres tribus, Cosmophorini y Meteorini con un género cada una y Euphorini que contenía 33 géneros. En 1997, Shaw propuso 9 tribus y 31 géneros de Euphorinae. [ 2 ] Por Yu et al. (2012), la lista de tribus representativas de Euphorinae había crecido a 16: Centistini , Cosmophorini , Cryptoxilonini , Dinocampini , Euphorini , Helorimorphini , Mannokeraiini , Meteorini , Myiocephalini , Neoneurini , † Oncometeorini , Perilitini , Planitorini , Proclithrophorini , Syntretini y Tainitermini . [ 4 ] Mannokeraiini fue sinonimizado bajo Planitorini por van Achterberg et al. (2017). [ 5 ] Stigenberg et al. (2015) trataron 52 géneros en 14 tribus existentes, elevando Pygostolini de una subtribu de Centistini, sinonimizando Cryptoxilonini bajo Cormophorini, sinonimizando Proclithrophorini bajo Townesilitini y eliminando Tainitermini por no estar anidado dentro de Euphorinae. [ 6 ] Chen y van Achterberg (2019) incluyeron la tribu adicional de Eadyini y eliminaron Proclithrophorini de la sinonimia. [ 7 ] En 2021, Stigenberg y van Achterberg devolvieron Proclithrophorini a la sinonimia bajo Townesilitini. [ 8 ] Bendixen y Shaw (2024) elevaron nuevamente a los Meteorini al estatus de subfamilia como Meteorinae en lugar de tratarlos como Euphorinae basales. [ 9 ]
