Martín Ledwith

Martin Ledwith es un actor y profesor de interpretación escocés, conocido sobre todo por su trabajo en teatro y televisión.

Ledwith nació en Motherwell , Lanarkshire , siendo el cuarto hijo de Peter Ledwith y Theresa Gregory.

Su primer trabajo en el teatro fue como diseñador para el Wiseguise Theatre de Glasgow. Diseñó producciones en el Traverse Theatre de Edimburgo y en el Tron Theatre de Glasgow.

Ledwith se trasladó a Londres para estudiar interpretación en la Real Academia de Arte Dramático ( RADA ). En la RADA estudió la técnica Stanislavski con Doreen Cannon y la voz con Robert Palmer.

El primer papel de Ledwith tras abandonar la RADA fue en la producción de The Future Is Betamax del Royal Court en el Ambassadors Theatre del West End londinense .

Su papel más reciente en el teatro fue el de Sir Arthur Conan Doyle en la producción de Harvey Weinstein de Finding Neverland , dirigida por Rob Ashford en el teatro Curve de Leicester .

El primer papel de Ledwith en la pantalla fue en la serie The Crow Road (BBC) en 1996.

Probablemente sea más conocido por sus papeles habituales en dos series de televisión. En Heartbeat (Yorkshire Television), interpretó el papel del mujeriego infiel Andy Ryan en la novena temporada (1999).

Entre 2001 y 2002, Ledwith fue un actor habitual en Holby City (BBC), interpretando el papel del padre Michael, quien se suicidó tras tener una relación extramarital con una enfermera.

Otros papeles que ha desempeñado incluyen apariciones especiales en Taggart (STV), The Whistle-Bowler (BBC), Monarch of the Glen (BBC) y Superbugs ( WGBH-TV Boston).

Ledwith is an acting coach and consultant for film, theatre and television. He originally taught Stanislavski Technique at London's City Lit. He has worked with actors and directors on a variety of projects including Spider-Man: Far From Home,Daredevil, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Night Of, The Crown, The Collection, Salem, Deadpool, Snatch, The Americans, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Jason Bourne, Top Boy, Boardwalk Empire, Green Room, Guardians of the Galaxy, Humans, Quantico, '71, Prince of Persia, The Woman in Black, The Impossible, One Day, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher and Downton Abbey.

Ledwith supplied the voices for the Streets' video "World's Longest Music Video". He has voiced many radio and TV commercials.

Ledwith had a brief parallel spell as a stage mentalist and psychological illusionist.
