Mehdi Ali oglu Huseynov , más conocido por el seudónimo Mehdi Huseyn ( en azerbaiyano : Mehdi Hüseyn ; 17 de abril de 1909 - 10 de marzo de 1965), fue un escritor y crítico azerbaiyano y soviético , laureado con el Premio Estatal Stalin de tercer grado (1950) y miembro del Partido Comunista de la Unión Soviética desde 1941. Educación
Huseyn nació el 4 de abril de 1909 en la aldea de İkinci Şıxlı , Azerbaiyán, en el seno de una familia cuyo padre era maestro. A los siete años asistió a una escuela rural donde se impartían clases en ruso . En 1920 ingresó en una escuela técnica pedagógica y al año siguiente se unió al Komsomol . En 1930 se graduó en historia por la Universidad de Azerbaiyán y en 1936 estudió en el Instituto Gerasimov de Cinematografía de Moscú . [ 2 ]
Carrera
Huseyn escribió su primer relato, "El esquileo de las ovejas", en su último año de secundaria, y fue publicado en 1926 en la revista Sharg Gadini ("Mujer de Oriente"). Sus primeros relatos describen una aldea azerbaiyana de los años posteriores a la revolución y la lucha contra las relaciones patriarcales y feudales. Sus obras dedicadas a la Guerra Civil son los relatos de las colecciones "Khaver" y "Inundaciones de primavera", escritas entre 1926 y 1932, y la novela "Inundación" (1936). Sus escritos presentan el tema de la reconstrucción socialista de una aldea azerbaiyana en "Tarlan" ("Lucha"). También escribió el primer relato histórico de Azerbaiyán, "Comisario" (1942), sobre Meshadi Azizbekov .
Escribió la narración «Llamada» y un libro de cuentos titulado «Mi patria» durante la Gran Guerra Patria . Su novela «Absheron», publicada en 1947, se basa en una historia sobre el heroico trabajo de los petroleros azerbaiyanos. Su secuela, «Rocas negras», se publicó en 1957 y trata sobre Mollayev, cuyo prototipo fue M. Baghirov . La novela histórica «Mañana» (1949-1952) estuvo dedicada a la lucha revolucionaria de los trabajadores de Bakú en 1907-1908. En 1966, se publicó póstumamente la novela «Aguas subterráneas fluyen hacia el océano».
Film-drama "Poet" (1937), "Glory" play (1939) – about a frontline village of Azerbaijan, "Nizami" (1940), "Javanshir" (1945), "Waiting" (1944, together with I. Efendiyev) about loyalty to a civic duty, are the most famous drama works of the author. Mehdi Huseyn is also famed as a critic and publicist. Literary-critical articles about the issues of socialist realism, adoption of a literal heritage of the past, learning of classic Russian literature and works of Russian Soviet writers belong to his pen.[3]
He was the chairman Union of Writers of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, secretary of the USSR Union of Writers, deputy of Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR of the 5th convocation and deputy of Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union of the 6th convocation.[4]
Mehdi Huseyn died on March 10, 1965, and is buried in the Alley of Honor.

A street in Imishli was named after Mehdi Huseyn.
