El Television and Radio Industries Club (conocido popularmente como TRIC ) es una institución británica fundada en 1931 para "promover la buena voluntad en las industrias de la televisión y la radio". El Club celebra una ceremonia anual de premios para reconocer los logros en televisión y radio. [ 1 ]

Los miembros proceden de los sectores de la comunicación, el entretenimiento, la fabricación, los seguros de garantía y los servicios, desde creadores de programas y emisoras hasta productores y fabricantes de equipos de radio.

presidente de TRIC

La presidencia de TRIC es un cargo honorífico que suele tener un mandato fijo de un año. Durante las primeras décadas de su existencia, los presidentes de TRIC procedían principalmente de pioneros de la industria de la radio y la televisión o del mundo de la política. La década de 1970 marcó un cambio y un período en el que se nombraron numerosos ejecutivos de la industria de la radiodifusión. La década de 1990 vio otro cambio con nombramientos del mundo del entretenimiento popular. Entre los titulares más destacados se encuentran Robert Maxwell, Michael Grade, Bob Monkhouse, Bernard Ingham y Tony Hadley [ 2 ] [ 3 ].

Premios TRIC

Los premios TRIC se otorgan anualmente y, desde 2019, los ganadores se deciden por votación pública a partir de una lista de nominaciones predeterminadas dentro de varias categorías. [ 4 ]

Tradicionalmente, la ceremonia de entrega de premios se ha celebrado en el Hotel Grosvenor House de Londres desde el primer almuerzo de entrega de premios que tuvo lugar allí en abril de 1969, cuando se entregaron tres premios a Val Doonican , Kenneth Horne y La saga de los Forsyte . [ 5 ] En 2021, debido a las restricciones por la COVID-19 , los premios se entregaron en septiembre en lugar de su habitual fecha de marzo y en el número 8 de Northumberland Avenue, cerca de Trafalgar Square, con una transmisión en directo simultánea. Desde 1992, el presidente de TRIC ha tenido el honor de presentar la ceremonia de entrega de premios, siendo las únicas excepciones recientes la ceremonia de 2009, cuando Bill Turnbull sustituyó a Sian Williams, que estaba de baja por maternidad, y la de 2021, cuando Roman Kemp la presentó en lugar del entonces presidente John Barrowman. [ 6 ]
