Los directorios de Queens (de la ciudad de Nueva York ) eran, antes de 1898, una mezcla de directorios de pueblos, directorios del condado de Queens , directorios de Long Island y complementos o inclusiones parciales en los directorios de la ciudad de Nueva York. En 1898, el 30% de la parte occidental del antiguo condado de Queens se incorporó a la ciudad de Nueva York. Antes de 1898, el condado de Nassau abarcaba el 70% oriental del antiguo condado de Queens. El antiguo y más extenso condado de Queens era principalmente agrícola y dentro de él había varios pueblos, aldeas y caseríos. A mediados y finales del siglo XIX, los cementerios constituían una de las principales industrias en los condados de Queens, Kings ( Brooklyn ) y Westchester (al norte del Bronx ).
