Frank Wynne

Frank Wynne (nacido en 1962) es un traductor literario y escritor irlandés .

Biografía

Nacido en el condado de Sligo, al oeste de Irlanda, Frank Wynne trabajó como editor de cómics en Fleetway y posteriormente en la revista de cómics Deadline . Trabajó un tiempo en AOL antes de dedicarse a la traducción literaria. Ha traducido a numerosos autores, entre ellos Michel Houellebecq , Boualem Sansal , Frédéric Beigbeder y el fallecido novelista marfileño Ahmadou Kourouma .

Ha ganado dos veces conjuntamente el Premio Literario de Dublín : con Houellebecq por Atomised (su traducción de Les Particules élémentaires ); y con Alice Zeniter por The Art of Losing (su traducción de L'Art de Perdre ). ^{[ 1 ]} Su traducción de Windows on the World de Frédéric Beigbeder , una novela ambientada en las torres gemelas del World Trade Center en Nueva York durante los ataques del 11 de septiembre de 2001 , ganó el Premio Independiente de Ficción Extranjera de 2005 .

El libro de Wynne, I Was Vermeer , una biografía de Han van Meegeren , fue publicado por Bloomsbury en agosto de 2006 y serializado como el "Libro de la Semana" de BBC Radio 4 (leído por Anton Lesser ) en agosto de 2006.

Wynne ha editado dos importantes antologías para Head of Zeus : Found in Translation: 100 of the finest stories every translated (2018) ^{[ 2 ]} y QUEER: LGBTQ Writing from Ancient Times to Yesterday (2021). ^{[ 3 ]}
